The hostage deal between Israel and Hamas is progressing to more advanced stages, marked by the IDF\u2019s withdrawal yesterday (Monday), from the coastal area of the Netzarim Corridor, which divides north and south Gaza. This move reopened population movement back to northern Gaza. Security checks in the area are being managed by an American private security firm trusted by Israel to prevent the smuggling of equipment and weapons from southern to northern Gaza, where the IDF conducted intensive operations during the war.<\/p>\n

Accelerated Hostage Releases<\/strong><\/p>\n

Simultaneously, Israel is preparing for an expedited schedule of hostage releases. Within the next four days, two rounds of releases are expected, with three hostages freed in each round. This development follows Israel\u2019s recent pressure on Hamas, which included delaying the opening of the Netzarim Corridor to movement.<\/p>\n

Among those expected to be released are Agam Berger, the fifth lookout soldier from the Nahal Oz army post, whose four colleagues were released on Saturday, and Arbel Yehud, held by Islamic Jihad in an unknown medical condition. Additionally, there will be another hostage released, likely one of the elderly citizens or foreign nationals held in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Continued IDF Action Against Threats<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the ceasefire, IDF is working to protect it’s soldiers and enforce Israel’s conditions for quiet. Over the past 24 hours (Monday\u2013Tuesday), the IDF spokesperson reported that Israeli forces took targeted action against individuals posing threats in Gaza. This included warning fire to deter suspects, followed by further measures to neutralize threats.<\/p>\n

In central Gaza, an aerial strike was carried out on a suspicious vehicle attempting to move northward in an unauthorized and unchecked area. Vehicles are currently only permitted to travel via the Salah al-Din route in later stages of the agreement, and under strict foreign security oversight to prevent smuggling.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IDF is determined to fully uphold the terms of the agreement to ensure the return of the hostages, is prepared for any scenario, and will continue to take all necessary actions to eliminate immediate threats to IDF soldiers,\u201d the IDF spokesperson stated.
