On a late-night El Al flight from Wednesday to Thursday en route to Miami, passengers and crew noticed a passenger experiencing a severe health crisis. Professor Yoram Weiss, the CEO of Hadassah Medical Center, who was aboard the flight heading to a fundraising mission in the U.S., immediately stepped in to provide emergency medical care.<\/p>\n
Emergency Landing in Athens<\/strong><\/p>\n Professor Weiss quickly determined that the passenger was suffering from a heart attack. He administered oxygen and emergency medication and advised the flight crew to make an emergency landing in Athens to transfer the passenger to a local hospital for further treatment and monitoring. Fellow passengers applauded and cheered for the professor, who had saved the passenger’s life.<\/p>\n Saving Lives Anywhere<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI did what any doctor would do in such a moment,\u201d Weiss said afterward. \u201cWe are doctors at all times, day or night, inside or outside the hospital.
