On November 26, 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the presentation and approval of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon to the cabinet. According to one clause in the agreement, Israel is supposed to withdraw its forces gradually back into Israeli territory within 60 days of the agreement taking effect. However, Israel Hayom<\/em> reported this morning (Sunday) that Israeli officials are considering the option of leaving IDF forces at key positions in southern Lebanon even after the agreement’s expiration.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah Continues to Rebuild with Iranian Assistance <\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the report, this option has been discussed in several recent meetings held by Israel\u2019s political-security leadership. The deliberations focus on several points: <\/p>\n

– The slow deployment of the Lebanese army in the southern region.
\n– Extensive weaponry and Hezbollah infrastructure that IDF forces continue to uncover.
\n– Hezbollah’s ongoing efforts to rebuild with Iranian support. <\/p>\n

In recent weeks, Israel has lodged multiple complaints with various international bodies about the Lebanese army\u2019s slow actions, emphasizing that if Lebanon fails to meet its commitments under the bilateral agreement, IDF forces will remain in southern Lebanon to ensure residents’ security.<\/p>\n

Combat Team 300 Operations in Lebanon <\/strong><\/p>\n

During threat-neutralization operations led by Combat Team 300, under the command of Division 146 and in collaboration with engineering units, a 100-meter underground passage leading to a Hezbollah “Radwan” unit outpost was destroyed. <\/p>\n

The forces, supported by soldiers from the elite Yahalom Unit who cleared the passage of explosives and threats, found numerous weapons inside, including rifles, machine guns, anti-tank missiles, surveillance systems, and additional military equipment. All the items were confiscated and destroyed, along with the underground passage. <\/p>\n

Near the tunnel, stockpiles of anti-tank missiles and heavy machine gun positions aimed at IDF posts were discovered. The underground passage led to a Hezbollah headquarters where rocket launchers, which had been used to fire rockets into Israel over the past year, and numerous explosives were found.<\/p>\n
