The proposed amendment will enable widows and widowers of Israel\u2019s fallen and victims of hostilities to add, upon request, their status as a widow or widower of Israel\u2019s fallen to their identity card appendix. This move expresses official recognition of their sacrifice and the challenges they face.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative arose following the Iron Swords War, during which hundreds of widows and widowers were added, highlighting the need to officially honor their contribution and sacrifice. According to the proposal, this will be done voluntarily, based on the applicants&#8217; wishes.
