The Community Kitchen in Kfar Saba, an innovative project at the city\u2019s “Kipod” Sustainability Center, attracts families and children eager to learn how to turn food leftovers into delicious and nutritious meals. The workshops, which recently launched, offer residents a creative and interactive way to make the most of ingredients that might otherwise go to waste. <\/p>\n
Last week, the “Soup from Anything” workshop, led by Erez Telem, a cookbook author and food blogger who is also a Kfar Saba resident, demonstrated how to use leftover vegetables, herbs, cauliflower leaves, and other commonly discarded items to create new, wholesome dishes. “Food rescue and maximizing ingredient use are very important to me,” Telem said. “My goal is to teach people how to change their shopping and cooking habits in simple ways that save money and resources.” <\/p>\n
Participants were thrilled not only by the cooking but also by the sense of connection with others. “It was an unforgettable workshop,” one attendee shared. “I learned how to cook smarter and also made new friends.”<\/p>\n
The initiative reflects the sustainability and community values that guide Kfar Saba\u2019s vision, encouraging residents to reduce food waste and support the environment. The activity has been widely embraced by residents, many of whom are already planning to attend future workshops. <\/p>\n
