The streets of Tel Aviv were quiet this year as is the tradition on Yom Kippur.<\/p>\n
Although there was some concern that public prayers in Tel Aviv would result in further divisions between Israelis as it did last year, conflicts were resolved peacefully ahead of Yom Kippur this year. Notably, Kol Nidrei and Ne’ilah prayers that took place at Hostage Square were attended by Jews from across the spectrum, secular and religious alike. <\/p>\n
Yeshivot and soldiers shared pictures of singing and dancing following Yom Kippur. This has been a very difficult year, but the Israeli spirit is strong. Israeli journalist Amit Segal posted on his Telegram channel videos of soldiers dancing in the Neztarim Corridor singing “Next Year in Jerusalem,” and the yeshiva in Sderot. <\/p>\n
In synagogues throughout Israel and the Jewish world, prayers were said for freeing the hostages, protecting IDF soldiers, and healing for the wounded. <\/p>\n
