Following the impressive assassinations in Beirut, including the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and after continued powerful strikes throughout Lebanon, the next phase has arrived \u2013 Yemen. Today (Sunday), around 17:00, the Air Force, using dozens of aircraft, struck several targets in the Hudaydah and Ras Issa areas, controlled by the Houthis in Yemen. The airport and seaport in Hudaydah were attacked, and the Air Force also hit oil and energy infrastructure in the area, as well as a power plant.<\/p>\n
While the IDF’s power and superiority in the region were anticipated, attacks are currently being carried out in four arenas simultaneously: Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, and now also Yemen.<\/p>\n
As a reminder, the IDF had already struck infrastructure in Hudaydah port last July. Today’s strike is far more powerful than the previous one and is expected to cause significant economic damage to the Houthis, whose income largely depends on oil exports. Social media footage shows that many oil reserves in the area were hit and are now burning.<\/p>\n
An IDF spokesperson said, “In a wide-scale aerial operation today (Sunday), dozens of Air Force aircraft, including fighter jets, refueling planes, and intelligence aircraft, directed by the Intelligence Directorate, struck military-use targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the Ras Issa and Hudaydah regions of Yemen. The IDF struck power plants and a seaport used for oil imports. Through the attacked infrastructure and ports, the Houthi regime transfers Iranian weapons to the area and supplies for military purposes, as well as oil.<\/p>\n
“The strike was carried out in response to recent attacks by the Houthi regime against the State of Israel. Over the past year, the Houthi terrorist regime, under Iranian direction and funding and in cooperation with Iraqi militias, has been working to harm Israel, destabilize the regional order, and disrupt global maritime freedom. In response to recent launches from Yemen towards Israel, the IDF attacked infrastructure in Yemen, approximately 1,800 kilometers from Israel.
